ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL SERIES THIS WEEK (May 27th): We will continue our series on the practical life lessons that can be gleaned from the kings of Israel and Judah. We will look specifically at King Solomon's demise from greatness with the
Day 1 at the Revival!
Yesterday (Sunday 10/30), we had a great opening day to the Revival Meetings! Evangelist Darrell Murphy challenged us to make sure we are in the ship as referenced from Matthew 14 when Christ constrained His disciples to get in the ship and launch out onto the Sea of Galilee. Brother Murphy’s outline asked us to make sure that we don’t allow #1 the Crowd to hinder us. Or #2 the Clouds (as they gathered before that stormy night). And finally, not to back away from the ship because of #3 the Controversy of being faithful and godly in this present world. I was personally challenged by the second point where we can so easily see the gathering storm clouds in our society’s attitude and spirit. Yet, we must not back down from the righteous contending for the the FAITH!
In the afternoon service, we were challenged from the famous passage of Scriptures that is Solomon’s prayer for God’s blessings on His people and the Temple in 2 Chronicless 6 followed by the famous call for God’s people (that’s us!) in 2 Chronicles 7:14 to call upon the Lord, humble ourselves, and confess and get right with Him ourselves, that our land might be healed! Do we really want Revival? Are we willing to fast and pray? Are we willing to put our feet to the street and tell others about Christ?
AND, have you ever heard the story of Ms. Corrie ten Boom? It is convicting for the average, mediocre Christian of 2016!
